High Commission of Pakistan, Singapore in collaboration with Meezan Bank Ltd. hosted a webinar on Roshan Digital Accounts (RDA) scheme on 10th February 2022. The webinar began with welcome remarks by Mr. Irfan Siddiqui, President & CEO, Meezan Bank Ltd. that highlighted the role of Meezan Bank in facilitating RDA scheme with a Shariah-compliant option, which was well liked by the overseas Pakistanis.

High Commissioner Ms. Rukhsana Afzaal, in her opening remarks, underscored the active participation of Pakistani diaspora in the RDA scheme marked by more than 500 accounts opened so far. She reiterated High Commission’s commitment to promoting Government’s initiatives and facilitating the Pakistani diaspora in collaboration with State Bank and other commercial banks. She underscored that it was the fifth of the series of such webinars the High Commission co-hosted.

Syed Irfan Ali, Managing Director, State Bank of Pakistan noted that the scheme was a significant step in Pakistan’s digital trajectory that empowered overseas Pakistanis to remotely manage their expenditure, financing, and investment in Pakistan. He lauded the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in spreading awareness regarding these initiatives through regular webinars. Syed Imran Ali Shah, Financial Controller, Meezan Bank Ltd. gave a detailed presentation on RDA and Roshan Apna Gher scheme, which was followed by a vibrant Q & A session.
