High Commission for Pakistan Singapore

Pakistan High Commission, Singapore launched Pakistan Pavilion at the annual Singapore Fintech Festival today. This is the first time Pakistan is participating in this mega technology fair, hosting 40 governments, 20 central banks and hundreds of regulators this year. The event is being attended by more than 68,000 people from across the globe.

Ms. Rukhsana Afzaal, Pakistan High Commissioner to Singapore inaugurated Pakistan Pavilion today. The ceremony was attended by a large number of Pakistani Diaspora. 8 Pakistani startups including Bykea, Cheetay, Credit Fix, Finja, Foree, Hysab Kytab, Rapid Compute and Tez are participating in the festival under the brand name “StartKar,” an initiative of Pakistan High Commission, Singapore.

The launching of Pakistan Pavilion this morning was preceded by a pre-event networking dinner by the High Commissioner on 10 November, attended by senior officials from World Bank (IFC), AFFIN, ADB, Credit Suisse, Standard Chartered Bank, Monetary Authority of Singapore, Temasek Holding, Singapore Business Federation, Enterprise Singapore and New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, besides prominent members of Pakistani community. The High Commissioner in her remarks shed light on the present government’s economic reforms agenda, with particular focus on financial inclusion of women and youth, for building a modern, progressive and forward-looking Pakistan. She also highlighted the government’s initiatives for promotion and projection of faith and legacy tourism in Pakistan, launching of Kartarpur Corridor being one such measure.

This is the 4th edition of SFF which will conclude on 15 November 2019. Financial services experts and thought leaders from around the world including Pakistan would be sharing experiences and presenting financial products and solutions at this great event during the next four days.
