A Webinar Foreign Ministers Honours List was hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad
A Webinar ‘Foreign Minister’s Honours List’ was hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad, today, to acknowledge the contributions of overseas Pakistani doctors, philanthropists, volunteer workers as well as international organizations and foundations whose tireless efforts and generous donations helped combat COVID-19 pandemic in Pakistan.
The High Commission of Pakistan, Singapore had nominated seven ardent and passionate Pakistanis including Dr. Asim Shabbir, Dr. Humaira Shafi, Ms. Azzah Waseem, Mr. and Mrs. Kamran Hassan Siddiqui, Ms. Mehak Sheheryar Qureshi and Mr. Adeel Naeem for the Foreign Minister’s Honours List. These Pakistanis worked as a team and led a fund-raising campaign in March 2020 for procurement of much needed medical equipment for the health care facilities in Pakistan. Through the generous contribution of the entire community, the team of volunteers generated funds to the tune of SGD178,370 that helped procure medical equipment including PPEs, Tyvek suits, goggles, for the paramedical staff in Pakistan. Ms Mehak Sheheryar Qureshi was shortlisted by the Ministry for inclusion in the Honours List.
In the international organization’s category, Temasek Foundation International was included in the Foreign Ministers’ Honours List. The donations by Temasek Foundation were also acknowledged in a letter by the Foreign Minister addressed to Mr Benedict Cheong, Chief Executive, Temasek Foundation International, who participated in the Webinar on behalf of the Foundation. Temasek Foundation had donated 50 Fortitude kits 2.0E Ruo (Reagent) worth SGD 200,000 (USD 143,000) to Pakistan that could conduct 10,000 tests besides supplying 100 units of Yuwell Oxygen Concentrators/Oxygenators.
